Press the Screenshot button or the F9 hotkey to select a rectangular region on the screen and capture it. Or press the Print key to take a screenshot of the entire screen. No matter which option you go for, the simple truth of the matter is that you can very easily take screenshots with Dariusz Mokwa’s Screen Shooter application.

After you take a screenshot, it will be conveniently displayed on Screen Shooter’s interface. You can draw on it using a pen, you can place an arrow on it, you can add custom text to it, you can add a custom shape, and so on.

After you take a screenshot, it will be uploaded to the web and its URL will be copied to the clipboard. You can paste the URL in an email or in an IM and thus let others view it. If you don’t like this default behavior, access the Options menu and disable the option to “automatically send to server” and the option to “automatically copy URL into clipboard.”

Obviously, you can also save the screenshot locally. You can save it as a JPEG or as a PNG file. You can save it to the default screenshots directory or to some other directory. I have to bring up the fact that the first time you run Screen Shooter, you’ll be asked to select a default screenshots directory.

Download an installer, run it, then follow the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard. These are the standard steps you must go through to install an application on your Windows PC. They’re also the steps you must go through to install Screen Shooter.

Screen Shooter is freeware. So after you get it up and running, you can keep using it for as long as you want, without having to part with your hard earned money.

Easily take screenshots with Dariusz Mokwa’s free Screen Shooter application. Have them uploaded to the web automatically and have the URL automatically placed in the clipboard.

Pros

Complete a simple installation process to get Screen Shooter up and running. Clear instructions on how to take a screenshot are presented on the interface. Draw on top of a screenshots. Save screenshots locally or have them uploaded to the web automatically. Screen Shooter is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of .
